BANGON.Tez

Recently, typhoon Odette (international name Rai) brought devastation to the southern parts of the Philippines. To this day, affected areas are still deprived of basic necessities such as food, water, and electricity. In collaboration with BANGON.tez and AlterHEN, MONO8 is presenting works by artists working on the Tezos blockchain. All proceeds will be donated to different organizations running grassroots initiatives in the affected areas.

  • On 15 December 2021, Typhoon Rai (local name Odette) brought torrential rains, violent winds, landfalls, and storm surges. It made landfall in the provinces of Surigao del Norte and Dinagat Islands in Mindanao, in five provinces of Visayas, and in the island of Palawan in Luzon before it exited the Philippine area of responsibility on 17 December.

More than 371,000 houses, estimated to cost over P29.2 million, were damaged. Close to P4 billion worth of infrastructure were also destroyed. The NDRRMC said 269 cities and municipalities experienced power outage or interruption, although services in 150 have already been restored. Water supply was cut in four areas, although one had the service back already.
